Annuities evaluated must have a minimum Comdex Score greater than 75 along with other company asset analysis (see methodology link for specifics). However, companies evaluated may be excluded from our grader for any reason. The annuities evaluated are NOT meant or implied to represent an all-inclusive list of contracts available in the market place. The list of variable annuities is by no means considered to be comprehensive, yet merely a chosen list by the owners of annuitygrader.com. Veritrust Financial may or may not have selling agreements with evaluated companies. Therefore, the investor may not have a sound basis to fairly evaluate the investment or to make an educated and suitable investment decision based solely on our website. All investors should seek advice from one of the AnnuityGrader representatives or another licensed professional before acting on any decision.
The comparison tables are for informational purposes only and is not a score or result of a score. In addition, the tables only reflect the facts of the lowest fee (base) contract. However, the information or facts are used to help grade the contract with the annuitygrader system. Only scores for the top ranked (5-star) contracts are revealed. Visit the “Report Card” link to see results of the criteria used to evaluate the annuity product along with commentary. Please call to discuss scores and results for contracts without their star rank displayed.
The AnnuityGrader® system does not evaluate all annuities. The list of companies that are compared is arrived at by the following screen:
1. Comdex (financial strength) score is 75 or higher
2. Total assets are greater than $10 billion
3. Annuity premiums of the last 12 months are greater than $500 million
4. Variable annuities are offered to individuals
5. Variable annuities offer a guaranteed lifetime withdrawal benefit rider or guaranteed minimum income benefit rider.
The lowest fee or base variable annuity contract is used for further contract analysis to arrive at a star rank. Please see link for Grading Methodology:
